FRANKLIN, IL – November 25, 2025 – The Franklin Community Unit School District #1 Board of Education is providing an update on the Superintendent Search.
The search process produced four excellent candidates. The Board of Education, at the November 19, 2025, board meeting, under the guidance of Dr. Curt Simonson, carefully reviewed the resumes, transcripts, work histories, and letters of recommendation. At the completion of the meeting, the Board decided to invite three candidates to interview in person.
Revised Timeline Details
SPECIAL BOARD MEETING DECEMBER 3, 2025, at 3:30 pm in the Media Room.
The Board of Education will interview each candidate, in person. These interviews will be held during the Closed Session portion of the meeting. At the conclusion of the interviews, the board will determine the next steps in the hiring process.
We appreciate the community's patience as we finalize these important logistical steps. The Board is dedicated to selecting an exceptional leader who will serve as Superintendent starting on July 1, 2026.
