On Saturday, September 4, the South County Vipers volleyball team helped Coach Spencer earn her 300th career win. We are pleased to announce that after the game this Thursday vs Lincolnwood we will celebrate Coach’s accomplishment with refreshments in the FHS cafeteria. All are welcome to join.

Good Afternoon Parents and Community Members,
The State of Illinois and most states surrounding us are experiencing a severe shortage of bus drivers. CUSD #1 is very lucky to have the dedicated staff of drivers that do their absolute best to provide quality and trusted transportation for our students. We are not looking to replace
any of our wonderful drivers, we simply need more help. With this being said, we are still in dire need of drivers.
The positions needed are:
• Morning and Afternoon Route Drivers / Substitute Drivers
• Drivers for special routes throughout the day
• Some day routes will be van or activity bus trips that do not require an SB/CDL license.
• Sports / Extracurricular trips
If you are interested in helping the district out on a full time or part time basis, please contact our Transportation Director, Bill Wallbaum at 217-675-2395 ext. 111. Bill can share with you
the details and compensation. This community has always come together to support our students and this is just another way we can work together to ensure their educational and extracurricular needs can be met. I am truly blessed to work for such a caring community.

Just a reminder that tomorrow, our first day of school, is a regular attendance day. The doors open at 7:45 at the high school for student arrival. East students will dismiss at 3:00, Elementary will dismiss at 3:05 and the Jr/Sr high will dismiss at 3:10.

Junior High cheer coach, Mrs. Willhite, will be hosting an informational night on August 31st at 5:30pm in the Franklin cafeteria! This is open to all Waverly and Franklin girls and boys in grades 6-8.
