Good afternoon! If you HAVE NOT submitted a schedule for your child enrolled at Franklin High School, please visit the school website where you can view the master schedule and fill out the schedule form. Please make sure you fill out the appropriate form, which will be the grade your student is entering into this year. Only for grades 9-12. You will notice that the master schedule has changed from block to traditional. If you have already scheduled classes, you DO NOT need to worry about contacting Mrs. Black and making any changes. If you were approved to be a TA, Mrs. Black has emailed you about choosing a new class in place of your TA position. If you are planning to take a LLCC course, you should have also received an email earlier this summer asking for proof of your online statement. Please make sure that any changes, requests, or new schedules are submitted or emailed by Friday, August 7 at 3:00 p.m. After this point Mrs. Black will fill in the high school schedules as necessary and then all changes will need to go through the formal add/drop process after the first week of classes.

We are sad to announce that the Elementary is canceling our annual Meet the Teacher night that was scheduled for August 18th and our Kindergarten Orientation that was scheduled for August 14th. Your child’s teacher will be in touch with you as the school year gets closer. We are all using SeeSaw as our digital platform this year so in the next few weeks you may be receiving an email asking you to join the class. This will be a great way to communicate with your child’s teacher. Stay safe everyone and Mask Up 😷!

Parents, At this time everyone is wondering about how school will start. The re-entry plan will be sent out to parents three to four weeks before the start of school. It will be posted on the school website. On Friday, June 26, 2020 guidance was rolled out to all schools in Illinois on what re-entry plans should look like. On Monday, June 29, 2020, those guidelines were changed and made more restrictive. It would be irresponsible of us to put a plan out at this time, only to see it change multiple times, again. This would cause anger and frustration. By putting the plan out three to four weeks ahead of time, we hope to minimize the constant changes and have the strongest, most flexible plan possible. The district leadership team meets again this week and will bring great clarity to a constantly moving target. Our considerations will focus on the re-entry of students and staff, along with all of the safety procedures that need to be in place. Thank you for your patience during these very difficult times. We realize that this is very frustrating to everyone. As a community, school, and staff, we have to determine what the new normal looks like. We believe that a vaccine will be developed. Until then, our work will focus on educating all students and providing for their safety and the safety of their families. Thank you for your constant support. Most sincerely, The Franklin District Leadership Team

The IHSA has allowed our athletes to return to some team activities that are at this point limited to physical conditioning or weight training. We need all interested athletes in grades 9-12 to check in with the following coaches by Friday June 12th. Any student interested in football needs to email Coach Hill at shill@pretzelpride.com. Any student interested in volleyball needs to email Coach Spencer at bspencer@franklinhigh.com. Any students interested in cross country need to email Coach Smith at rsmith@franklinhigh.com. Any athletes interested in boys or girls golf need to email Coach Ross at ross23@royell.org. Other coaches for winter and spring coaches will be reaching out to their team members as well but the fall sports will be assigned groups first as recommended by the IHSA. Any questions about this program will be answered by Rick Smith.
